Plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery is a medical specialty responsible for correcting body defects and\/or functional deficiencies caused by trauma, diseases, accidents or illnesses, and those that are inherent only to aesthetics and the improvement of our image. We constantly read news about women who have deformed their bodies as a result of multiple interventions to beautify themselves or to look like their favorite artist, find a partner, a job, etc. This type of addiction is called body dysmorphic disorder (bdd), and is characterized by an excessive concern about an imaginary or real defect in physical appearance. Due to these problems, nowadays psychology is closely linked to aesthetic medicine and surgery.<\/p>\n

According to the american society for aesthetic plastic surgery (asaps), a warning sign to identify a person unfit for intervention is when someone between 20 and 30 years old has undergone more than 6 or 7 cosmetic operations.<\/p>\n

Many of these cases occur in public figures, artists and models of worldwide fame. Long is the list of people whose faces and bodies have been deformed by excessive surgeries.<\/p>\n
