We reproduce the statements of a Venezuelan colleague who frequently deals with the problem of biopolymers. He describes their use as a regrettable plague. \u201cIt is worse than cancer,\u201d he says, \u201cit is a chronic disease.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even worse. There are unscrupulous doctors who inject it into the \u201cbuttocks, genitals, pectorals, nasal folds, calves, and any part of the body\u201d of patients. This prohibited material, which is still used, causes a condition from which these people will never be free. It can even kill them.<\/p>\n

Did we write “even worse”? Well, we have to write it again. Recently, the use of a new term to hide an old reality has been reported. Apparently, some people use \u201cplasma gel\u201d to define what are still biopolymers.<\/strong> In other words, the name change only represents an attempt by these “criminals” to deceive those who trustingly turn to them.<\/p>\n

Complications caused by biopolymers<\/h2>\n

Unfortunately, we know very well what we are talking about, since we are thoroughly familiar with the damage caused by biopolymers. Many people come to our clinics seeking a solution to a problem caused by others. Those whose practice is far removed from any ethical standard and who use these biopolymers knowing that they produce adverse reactions and serious complications that, in the worst\u2014and not infrequent\u2014cases, can result in death.<\/p>\n

And the solution is not easy. Because it is not easy to remove that silicone without damaging the surrounding tissue. If the biopolymer comes into contact with the muscle, it can cause deformities, migrate, infiltrate, and generate granulomas; it can lead to the appearance of bacteria and fungi or serious or fatal infections.<\/p>\n
