Since their invention in the last century, biopolymer injections<\/strong> have been the most widely used filler in the history of cosmetic surgery. They have been used for breast, buttock, lip, and cheek augmentation. After their high toxicity and effects on the human body were confirmed, these materials were banned.<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, due to poor medical practice, body injections with biopolymers remain common in certain countries, especially in Latin America, as a (cheaper) alternative to implants. Despite the fact that their injection is officially prohibited, there are still clinics offering these materials to patients, committing a very serious case of medical negligence.<\/p>\n

Are biopolymer fillers bad? What are the consequences of biopolymers?<\/h2>\n

This is because silicone can freely spread to other parts of the body and other tissues since it encounters no barrier (as is the case with implants, where the silicone is contained within a kind of pouch). In Spain, their injection is prohibited, and secondary surgeries to remove them are common.<\/strong><\/p>\n
