The highly controversial diet by nutritionist Pierre Dukan is a permanent reason for consultation at our clinic. Thousands of people all over the world follow this diet, which is very aggressive and promises to lose weight in a drastic and definitive way.<\/p>\n

Health and nutrition experts do not support or endorse this type of diets and the French National Agency for Food Safety (ANSES), has stated in a release that “80 percent of the people who follow this method will have regained their weight in a period of less than one year”<\/p>\n

In the United States and Spain the diet is quite new, but countries such as France have been following it for years, and according to studies carried out on nutritionist Pierre Dukan’s theory, it causes a rebound effect, that is, the weight is regained very easily and quickly, as well as causing damage to vital organs such as the kidney, producing headaches, bone problems, liver problems, constipation and mood changes.<\/p>\n

The Dukan Diet is low-calorie and slows down the body’s metabolism in all its phases, suppressing carbohydrates and macronutrients that the body needs. Extreme diets cause damage, often severe.<\/p>\n

In Spain, a documentary report was broadcast by Antena 3, titled “The Dukan Diet or the business of losing weight” where the hidden parts of this diet and its commercial environment are revealed.<\/p>\n
