The person we want to write about today is a young woman, born in 1990 in Sydney, Australia. Hers is a story of overcoming adversity: we are told that she lived in a mud-brick house, suffered bullying at school, dropped out at 14 and moved to the United States before turning 16, where everything changed. Her name is Amethyst Amelia Kelly, although the world knows her as Iggy Azalea: Iggy because that was the name of her childhood pet, and Azalea because that was the name of the street in Mullumbimby (New South Wales) where she grew up, Azalea Street.

Who is she?

Iggy Azalea is therefore a rapper. And a songwriter. And a model. And shameless, said with all due respect: not long ago, for example, she caused a huge stir on Instagram because she posted a photo in underwear. Well, and because the shape of her buttocks suggested that she had undergone surgery.

The truth is that young Iggy tends to share everything that happens to her on social media, which some may consider a symptom of boldness and others a sophisticated marketing strategy. For example, she recently also thanked her plastic surgeon on Instagram, attributing all the credit for the “perky breasts” she proudly shows off to him.

The superstar’s text is priceless: “Today I caught up with Dr. Ghavami. In case you were wondering: first, he’s very funny; second, he’s my Greek yogurt soulmate; third, he’s the reason I have fabulous perky boobs.”

“I caught up with him,” she said, because it was a follow-up visit a year and a half after the surgery, which took place in 2014.

Ghavami himself shared the same photo on his account and gave details about a procedure that has become his trademark: “With our #FlashRecoveryBreastAugmentation, she recovered in less than 24 hours and was able to DANCE with #JLO at the #AMAs only 4 DAYS AFTER THE SURGERY.”

The truth is that our colleague does not shy away from the promotion generated by that kind of message, as demonstrated in this video.

But let us return to Iggy, because it is not the first time she has gone under the knife; she also underwent a rhinoplasty, and because she has never hidden it. “I don’t deny it, denying it would be ridiculous,” she told Seventeen magazine. “I don’t think you should feel ashamed for making some changes, and that is why I have talked about the changes I have made, such as my breasts. The way you perceive yourself changes a lot over time, so I also think it is vital to wait until you are sure it is the right decision. Plastic surgery is an emotional journey.”

An argument with which we can only agree.
