On some occasions we have mentioned the embarrassment that some people feel when talking about the cosmetic surgery procedures they have undergone, or are thinking of undergoing. And this modesty is understandable until the results become obvious, since denying having gone through surgery is absurd. However, there is a series of super discreet operations where the results are not easily noticed, given that they are in very intimate areas. Do you know which ones they are? Exactly, we are talking about intimate surgeries, such as nymphoplasties or vaginal labiaplasty, that is, the cosmetic surgery of the vaginal labia minora, also called nymphae.

Modesty in intimate surgeries

These are procedures, so to speak, that we would never undergo because of fashion or whim. The reason? They are interventions that are performed out of necessity and whose result will only be known by the woman herself and her partner, the kind we don’t talk about with anyone. With no one.

Why are nymphoplasties performed?

You may never have thought that you might need one… Perhaps you suffer discomfort or pain during sexual intercourse, or when you wear tight clothes, tight pants, but you have resigned yourself because you did not think it was possible to do anything about it. Or perhaps it is merely an aesthetic problem, for which you did not know there was a solution.

The good news is that there is, there is a solution for a problem that is more frequent than it seems, among whose causes are the passing of the years (the labia sag, they lose their shape) and reasons of genetic or acquired origin.

Even better: generally, the results of ninfectomy, a quick, minimally painful, outpatient and effective cosmetic surgery, are very good.

Do secondary nymphoplasties exist?

It is possible that the result may not be as expected when you undergo intimate surgery. And, although it may not seem so, it is more common than desirable for dissatisfied patients, victims of poor surgical technique, to come to the consultation seeking a second chance.

In those cases, it is necessary to proceed with a secondary nymphoplasty, which will restore correct anatomy, correct asymmetries, and in some cases may require filling the labia majora with the patient’s own fat (this is called lipofilling) in order to improve the aesthetic result.

In short, resignation is not a good option. Remember that this problem has a solution. Don’t let modesty stop you from addressing it.
