Bangkok-After having injected olive oil into his genitals, in order to enlarge the size of his penis, a 50-year-old man ended up undergoing the removal of his genitals, thus avoiding more serious complications that could have led to his death.
This Thai man used the infiltration method to enlarge his penis; the substance caused a severe infection which led to the urgent procedure to remove his penis.
According to a statement from Bangkok Hospital, “the largest genital surgery we have ever performed, and it was necessary given the condition of the tumour”.
Despite the unfortunate consequences of this act, Thailand’s health ministry pointed out that this is a dangerous practice that is becoming more common every day in the Asian country.
Medical staff at the large Bangkok Hospital said they hear on a daily basis of cases of men who inject olive oil, paraffin, silicone or beeswax to increase the size of the penis.
One of the busiest hospitals in Bangkok reported that around 40 patients a month receive treatment to counteract the effects that occur after injecting substances to enlarge their member.
This type of practice is carried out in clinics in Thailand, and the authorities have issued a statement to prevent men from continuing with this practice, which can be fatal.
