It is not a disease, but it is one of the (minor) plagues of our time. It comes in soft and hard forms, it seems to have a hormonal component, but our sedentary habits are not the best way to fight it. It affects (above all) women, and not necessarily obese women: thin women can also show the characteristic accumulation of adipose tissue in some areas of the body. We also call it “orange peel skin“: we are talking, of course, about cellulite.
The orange peel skin nobody wants
Although until not so long ago these deformities caused by localized fat deposits did not have an acceptable surgical solution, for some time now liposuction has become the main way to correct them. But it is not always necessary to go into the operating room; there are non-invasive techniques for cellulite reduction and body contouring that also offer very satisfactory results.
- Ozone therapy, a treatment that, as its name suggests, is based on the use of ozone gas mixed with oxygen. When it enters the body, this combination produces a chemical reaction that acts as an antioxidant, increases the body’s defenses and cellular oxygenation and, in doing so, improves blood circulation. It is a great ally in the treatment of cellulite.
- Vela Smooth, a medical device that incorporates four therapeutic elements of proven effectiveness into a single head: infrared light, bipolar radiofrequency, a suction chamber (vacuum therapy) and massage rollers.
Treatment with velasmooth
Vela Smooth is the first non-invasive and practically painless technique recognized by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and also by the European Union, for the treatment of cellulite and contour reduction. In both cases, the green light followed a series of clinical trials showing that Vela Smooth reduces orange peel skin and the circumference of the hips, waist and thighs, therefore reduces volume, improves blood circulation and firms the skin, giving it a smoother appearance.
In short: there is more than one option, and it is worth exploring them all, deciding which one is right for each case, and trusting that, when applied by a professional, the chosen technique will deliver the desired results.
