Localised fat deposits on the back are quite common and greatly detract from the body silhouette. In many cases, the presence of this fat in this part of the body causes, in addition to the purely aesthetic aspect, real problems when getting dressed or finding clothes that suit our figure.
These are the well-known “back and waist rolls”, which become more noticeable when wearing a bra and certain garments. These unwanted fat deposits are treated with a combination of liposuction and liposculpture.
Liposuction consists of suctioning the fat through incisions of less than 1 cm in the cellulite area, using very small cannulas. The work is always done very superficially, where the fatty tissue is. The extracted fat does not grow back, because all the fat-producing cells are removed.
Liposculpture is the complement used to treat skin sagging and is performed at the same time. It is a similar technique, but performed more superficially, to try to achieve greater skin firmness. Ultrasound has now also been incorporated to perform liposculpture.
The surgery is outpatient, it does not require hospital admission, and you can return home after the procedure.
In general, the postoperative period is painless and recovery is fast. A compression garment should be worn for approximately the first month, which helps reduce swelling and bruising and adjusts the skin to its new shape.
