Mesotherapy and pressotherapy are two highly requested aesthetic treatments at Clínicas Dr. Fernández Blanco. In this article, we’ll explore whether these procedures can be combined and the main benefits of undergoing them together.

What is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a therapy applied to the tissue known as the mesoderm. Elementary, as the classic would say.

Indeed, mesotherapy is a treatment performed through multiple intradermal injections of small doses of various medications. These injections are not applied in traditional areas like the arm or buttocks but precisely where they are needed—on the region we want to treat. This is its main advantage.

At our clinics, we frequently perform firming mesotherapy and slimming mesotherapy treatments. Their names are self-explanatory, but since we’re here to provide all the information possible, we’ll delve into both.

  • Firming mesotherapy activates local circulation, alters the permeability of adipocyte (fat cell) walls, and involves injecting small drops of medications, lipolytic products, venotonics, and tissue firming agents beneath the skin’s surface. The goal is to facilitate the release of fat content.
  • Slimming mesotherapy is similar yet distinct, even more effective for reducing localized fat. Here, the necessary products for our goal are injected, but at greater depths.

In both cases, patients require an initial series of treatments consisting of 8 to 12 sessions, usually one per week. Afterward, a maintenance session schedule must be established, with frequency adjusted to the specific needs of each case.

Can mesotherapy and pressotherapy be combined?

Although they are self-sufficient treatments with proven effectiveness, their effects can be enhanced by combining them with pressotherapy. Pressotherapy is ideal for treating edema, cellulite, varicose veins, and various circulatory problems. It is also effective as a pre- and post-liposuction treatment, using air pressure to perform lymphatic drainage.

This combination promotes proper blood and lymphatic circulation, helping eliminate toxins and waste products.
