- Scars, which depend not only on the surgeon’s skill but also on the healing ability of the person who underwent surgery. This involves not only the cannula entry points but also the entire internal part of the dermal-fat flap, which may develop hypertrophy and retraction.
This is where secondary liposuction comes into play, allowing the poor results and complications of primary liposuction to be corrected permanently.
However, here more than ever—and this is advice we never tire of repeating—it is important to choose an experienced surgeon who is capable of handling the complexities of secondary surgeries, and strict compliance with preoperative and postoperative instructions is essential. Because there is not always a third opportunity.
