Argan oil is extracted from a tree found in southwestern Morocco called Argania Spinosa. Pure oil is considered a true gem, known as LIQUID GOLD, for the care of the face, hair, nails, and body, and it has been used in this country since ancient times.
Argan oil is composed of 80% essential fatty acids, EFAs: oleic acid (45%), linoleic acid or vitamin F (35%), alpha-linolenic acid (15%), gamma-linolenic acid (3%), arachidonic acid (1%); it contains large amounts of tocopherols or vitamin E (around 700 mg/kg), carotenoids of which 50% are beta-carotenes, precursors of vitamin A, phytosterols (D-7 sterols), and squalene.
Argan oil has a very high concentration of essential fatty acids and linoleic acids in natural association. Essential unsaturated fatty acids, that is, those that the body cannot synthesize on its own and must obtain from an external source (diet or cosmetics), are vital nutrients involved in physiological and biochemical processes related to tissue regeneration. They play a very important role in minimizing scars, wrinkles, and restoring the skin‘s firmness and softness.
Recent studies have confirmed the biological importance of gamma-tocopherol, predominant in argan oil (75%). Gamma-tocopherol is a much more effective antioxidant than alpha-tocopherol. This property demonstrates its excellent results against oxidation and free radicals, the direct cause of the loss of skin elasticity and the resulting appearance of wrinkles and stretch marks.
Argan oil has an oxygenating effect on the skin, protecting the hydrolipidic layer and skin cells, whose nutrient levels increase considerably. The benefits are skin elasticity, softness, and radiance.
For anti-aging care, argan oil softens the skin, hydrates it, and protects it from dryness.
Unlike other oils such as rosehip oil, argan oil is not comedogenic, meaning it does not clog or block pores. It is therefore recommended even for people with oily skin and/or acne, with very favorable results in the recovery of marks or scars. It is suitable for all skin types.
For body massage, it provides hydration, nutrients, and softness to the skin after a bath or shower. Its use is recommended for sunburn and skin irritations; the oil will relieve the sensation of stinging, itching, burning, and tightness.
For brittle nails, it strengthens them, and for hair, it will add shine and nourish it. This is due to its lupeol content, which promotes the generation of keratinocytes, the cells that produce keratin, the main component of the epidermis, nails, and hair.
