Our doctor Natalia Pshenychna tells us about lip hydration, volume enhancement and the differences between the two.

What are the differences between hydration and volume enhancement in lips?

There are some differences between the two techniques:

  • Lip hydration:

To hydrate the lip, a gentle product is used, only to give it a little juiciness without changing either the volume or the shape. What we achieve with this technique is to disguise and minimally fill in the lip wrinkles.

  • Lip enhancement:

The volume is increased with a stronger product, one that lasts longer and whose result is more long-lasting. We manage to increase the volume of your own lip without changing its shape.

By the way, it should be remembered that hyaluronic acid is a substance that is absorbable by the body, so its effects diminish as time goes by. That is why lip hydration can last up to 12 months.

What is lip enhancement with the Russian technique?

The idea of this technique is to enhance the lip without giving it forward projection. Filling the lip more in the central area, creating a bow effect. The key lies in a uniform filling with an ultra-fine cannula.

Advantages of having lip hydration with hyaluronic acid

The advantages of lip hydration with hyaluronic acid are:

  • Natural results without increasing the volume.
  • Radiance and beauty in the lips.
  • In the long term, hydration with hyaluronic acid promotes collagen regeneration.
  • After the product is reabsorbed, the lips will have a firmer and prettier appearance than before the treatment.
  • The wrinkles at the corners of the lips are eliminated.
  • Minimally invasive procedure. It is carried out at the practice and is performed in 15 minutes.

How many times is it advisable to repeat lip hydration?

For more effective and longer-lasting results in which the reabsorption of the hyaluronic acid is not noticed and, therefore, the lips do not lose radiance and fullness, it is advisable to have the treatment twice a year.

However, although it is advisable to repeat the treatment, it is not compulsory. With a single hydration, the tissues are stimulated and collagen is activated, which will help to reverse the effects of the passage of time during that period.

Let’s talk about aftercare

Once the specialist finishes carrying out the treatment, the patient may present:

  1. Inflammation in the area.
  2. Possible bruising.

In both cases, it subsides quickly and without leaving any kind of after-effect. However, the following precautions are recommended so that the results last longer:

  • Avoid salty foods.
  • Do not drink alcohol for a couple of days in order to reduce possible swelling.
  • Reduce tobacco consumption.
  • Avoid exposure to the sun and heat until the swelling has gone down.
  • Avoid rubbing or pressing the area in the hours following the procedure.

Apart from this, the doctor who performs your lip hydration with hyaluronic acid will give you the guidelines and recommendations you should follow so that the results last longer.
